Take A Tour Back In Time With Me & Rediscover Your Passion For History and Get Back In Touch With Your Heritage .

This site is my way of sharing my passion of history with you, whether you already have a love for the subject or have maybe lost it somewhere along the way.  Perhaps you have forgotten just how much fun, enjoyment and personal gain you can get from history and if that is the case I hope to be able to help you rediscover it all over again.

You may be wondering why I have bothered to produce this site when there are already many other web sites and other sources of information available to you.  I know that's a question I have asked myself on occasions.

Yes there is a wealth of information available but there is so much of it that not too many of you are aware of where to go for the good stuff and I think that is a crying shame, so I wanted to do something about it.  I was recently doing some research on a book I am considering writing about my home town of Gillingham in Kent (UK) and the surrounding Medway Towns and I was astounded at some of the amazing resources that I literally

As well as sharing my resource's with you I am going to give you more and more information on great historic places to visit, things to do to add a bit of historic fun and maybe some spice into your lives, as well as reviewing books and films that cross my path.  Yes, history can be spicy and exciting, why do you think the film industry have taken such an interest in it over recent years!  It sells that's why, it makes a good story with, love, lust, hate, fear, excitement and intrigue, everything in fact that a box office blockbuster needs.

If Hollywood thinks it is great entertainment who am I to disagree!

But as well as the above I want to give you more, and my biggest project is to produce a batch of electronic books (ebooks)  on a variety of historical subjects for you to enjoy.

This is obviously not going to happen overnight but I promise to deliver them to you as soon as I can without compromising their quality.  In the meantime I will keep developing this site so please bookmark it now and keep rediscovering history with me.

Better still if you sign up for FREE to what will eventually be my Rediscovering History Newsletter NOW you will get updates on how both the site and the books are progressing.

By the way, I am no academic on the subject of history I just have a passion for it so what you get won't be high brow or difficult to understand.  I leave all of that to the professionals!

Here are some ideas for you to consider to getting you started on rediscovering history without having to travel far from home or your computer.

  • What is the history behind your town or county/state emblem?
  • The street/road names may have a familiar ring to them, were they named after famous people or events?
  • How did your local or favorite sports team get started?
  • Was anyone famous born in your town?  If so can you track down the house they were born in and the school that they attended and of course what did they become famous for?
  • What is the oldest building in your town?
  • One of my favorites - How did the pubs/bars in your area get their names?

Hopefully that little list has got your juices flowing again and I am sure you can think of a lo more projects to get you back on the road to discovery.

Enjoy the site and all of the other things I am going to be adding in the future.

Happy History Hunting.

Steve
